How to Choose a Conveyancing Solicitor or Conveyancer

  1. Go by personal recommendation - a lot of our work comes that way.

  2. Use a firm like ours that specialises in Conveyancing so that we are not "out at court..." when you 'phone.

  3. Call the firm to ask for an all inclusive estimate.  Did a SOLICITOR talk to you or ring you back fairly quickly?

  4. Is there a No Sale No Fee Scheme?

  5. If you are in the Hampshire area, is there a Local Office you can visit?

  6. Does the solicitor have any Local Knowledge of the Hampshire area?

  7. If the basic quote sounds cheap, check that there are No Hidden Extras?  We don't believe in giving people a false impression of the true costs involved.

  8. Is the solicitor or conveyancer getting a referral fee from some estate agent or marketing company?   If so, why does he need to make that kind of arrangement?   Will he really give you independent advice?   You found us without paying a fee for referral, so why waste your money?

  9. Services can vary a lot in quality, and the really cheap conveyancers are usually miles away from you and difficult to contact, and they often turn out to be not as cheap as you might think!  For most people, their house is their biggest investment.  Do you really want to save a few pounds by using some faceless processing centre?

  10. Do you think the firm really cares about you and your needs?   It's very important that things go as smoothly as possible.   You need someone who will help you watch out for the pitfalls, and as far as possible warn you before they happen.  If your gut feel is that you are just going to be a file reference in a distant office in Cardiff or Bradford or Chelmsford, you may want to carry on looking, or you may want to Get a Quote from us.
